A general update
January 16th, 2019 08:47 pm I applied for a job at the National Institute of Circus Arts! It's an admin job, don't get excited, but it does come with free classes, so if I get it, that means I can fuck around on aerial hoop for freeeeee. So I'm hoping, because that's been my answer to the dance-related crisis I never journalled about but will one day, but it's an expensive answer compared to dance, because obviously people hanging from the ceiling makes insurance expensive for the studios...
I have done very little on the writing front other than sketchy bits of a JC Superstar cyberpunk AU and thinking about the selkie novel I've been thinking about for years.

So I'm thinking I'll set my camp nano goal at like, 10,000 or something, and just try and make my personal goal to work on the thing every day, and we'll see if we get anywhere. There's a bunch of worldbuilding stuff I have to do that means just bashing out words is probably not the most productive way to work.
In addition, signed up for
wipbigbang to finish off the kinky Ronan/Gansey longfic that I've been planning for like four years (seriously, Stiefvater can't have made so many throwaway comments about putting a leash and collar on Ronan without knowing what it was going to make me thing...).
So pray for me, and hopefully I can break my usual yearly writing cycle which goes: write like one poem every couple of months then try and tackle nanowrimo with no preparation and drag out like 30,000 words that I never want to see again of a project I'm not that invested in.

It appears to be summer
December 1st, 2014 11:15 amSo today appears to be the first of December, which means that a) I should get on with my Yuletide assignment if I want to write any treats, and b) the December meme is starting today. There is still lots of room in my December if anyone else wants me to talk about a thing. I'm on my phone, so I can't provide you with a link, but it's on my journal a few posts down...
It also means that c) I failed Nanowrimo, but I was not all that invested in my novel, so that would be the problem, and also the reason for lack of disappointment on this front.

On the Yuletide front
November 28th, 2014 03:41 pmMy assignment goes delightfully well. I have planned it out, done a tonne of research, and it looks like it will be a lot of fun to write. I wish I could say more, but I am shockingly bad at remembering who I've given access to what, and even if I'm careful, who knows what you may deduce, so my lips remained sealed.
In terms of treats, I have one I've sort of half written - we'll see where that goes -and good intentions of having a look at a few others. There's still plenty of time, right? Usually I'm to busy scrambling to finish off my assignment to write treats, but I am hoping to do better this year.
In other news, a friend gave me a second-hand smartphone, so I am at last in the Modern Era with the rest of you.
