So, conuly told me to be the change I wanted to see in the world, get some people together, and aggressive spam a comm until it became active and thus I am here to tentatively ask whether there's anyone interested in some kind of Raven Cycle-centred Dreamwidth community...

Fair question!

It's a series of four YA fantasy novels by Maggie Stiefvater which focus on a group of five US teenagers and their quest to awaken a legendary Welsh king who is sleeping King Arthur style and will grant you a wish when you wake him.

Its biggest strong point is not actually the plot, but the characterisation, which is *very* well done, especially in the earlier books, and the complicated web of friendships and romantic relationships between the main characters. If you're looking for a series that values friendship as much as it does romance, this may be one...

It certainly isn't perfect, though. =P I have Things To Say, especially about the later books...

Alas, I'm completely out of the fandom now, but I wish you luck!

Ahahaha truuuue. I was...disappointed with how the series wrapped up. I cannot leave the fandom because I still have So Many things to say...

And she's writing a sequel trilogy, about which I am Alarmed. XD So hopefully someone comes by and want to have Opinions with me.

Yes! I would very much like to join such a community. I love the Raven Cycle, but do not love the Tumblr fandom (which is where most discussion of the series has taken place, at least as far as I can tell). A Dreamwidth comm would be great!

I never actually did! But with this apparent dreamwidth revival, now's possibly the time. We may have to hold off until my internet's connected on Tuesday, but I am ready to figure out how to mod a community!
